Electronic vs. non-Electronic Bidet Seat Attachments

2018-01-17

For anyone in the market to upgrade their bathroom with a bidet seat attachment, there are two general categories of bidets from which to choose: electronic and non-electronic. Electronic bidet seats are like other standard electric appliances and get their power by plugging into a standard electrical outlet. Non-electronic bidet attachments do not use an outlet and are instead powered by water pressure. While both types of bidet attachments offer a more hygienic experience than toilet paper alone, there are important functional differences between these two types of bidets that should be understood before choosing the kind that best meets your needs.

There are a few different types of non-electronic bidet options available. One of the most common forms is the hand shower spray, which is rather similar to a detachable hand-held shower head common in many bathtubs and showers. These hand-held bidets are connected to the cold water supply and are kept within reaching distance of the toilet.

Some of the more advanced non-electronic bidets are attached to the toilet between the bowl and toilet seat. To install this style of attachment, the toilet seat must first be removed, and then the bidet attachment is secured directly to the toilet. Once connected, the seat is re-installed over the bidet. Like the hand shower spray, this type of non-electric bidet also typically connects to the cold water line that runs water to the tank. While non-electronic bidet attachments clean more effectively and hygienically than toilet paper, the major drawback is that they use cold water whereas most people prefer warm water.

Similar to the type of non-electronic bidet mentioned above, installation of an electronic bidet seat requires you first remove your toilet seat. However, you will not need to re-install it. This is because an electronic bidet actually takes the place of your toilet seat. And because they are electrically powered, these bidets are able to offer a wide range of features not possible with their non-electronic counterparts. The most notable of these features is warm water. Just as most people demand a hot water heater so they can use warm water in the shower and bath, so too do most people want a warm water spray when using a bidet. This is exactly what these electric bidet seats provide with their water heating systems inside the actual bidet seat unit.

In addition to heated water, electronic bidet seats provide several other popular features like oscillating cleanse to expand the cleaning area as well as adjustable water pressure and temperature to be changed to fit the user’s preferences. Many also provide a warm air dry feature to help dry after washing, much like a warm air hand dryer. Another popular element of most electronic bidet seats is a heated seat, which can come in especially handy during cold winter months.  Other user-friendly options include self-rinsing nozzles, built-in air deodorizers and remote control that can be mounted wherever is most convenient for users.

While there are clearly many options out there for anyone interesting in getting a bidet seat attachment. Though the non-electronic bidets are more limited in their available features, they are much more hygienic than toilet paper, plus they can fit a more limited budget. Electronic bidets are more expensive, but the extra investment will get you a lot of those extra features most people want in a bidet seat. The main thing is to assess your budget to find your price range and do your research to really know what features are most important to you. Either way you go, both types of bidets will provide a healthier, more hygienic cleanse than the dry toilet paper too many people are still using.

As for the bidet attachments, there are hot & cold water models and only-cold water models. For hot & Cold water model, you can adjust the bidet valve to adjust water temperature, imagine when you are in shower and bath.

Besides normal rear washing, female washing and nozzle cleanings are also available for the bidet attachments. You can choose the function you need for the hygienic cleaning.
